We, those who fight every day to defend the right to housing, call for this demonstration because we cannot allow them to keep making a business out of our lives.
Housing should be a right, not a commodity for speculation. However, investment funds and landlords continue to accumulate profits while thousands of people are evicted, displaced from their neighborhoods, or forced to live in inhumane conditions. And all this happens with the complicity of the state and institutional political parties, which have turned housing into a business model.
Meanwhile, those of us who organize to resist and defend our homes suffer repression, fines, persecution, and police violence. They want us silenced, they want us isolated, but we respond with more strength, more organization, and more struggle.
That’s why we call on everyone to take to the streets. Because this is not just a demonstration; it is another step in building a strong, independent, and combative movement. We want to build alliances, bring in new comrades, and strengthen mutual support networks.
On April 5, in various cities across the country, we will take to the streets with a clear message: "LET'S END THE HOUSING BUSINESS." If you have been evicted, if your rent is increasing, if you cannot access decent housing, if you are organizing or want to start… this fight is also yours.
See you in the streets.
